The Information Ministry has been abolished by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama. By means of an Executive Instrument, the President declared that he had trimmed the number of Ministries from thirty to twenty-three. This indicates that while some ministries have been eliminated, others have been combined. The Ministry of Information, which used to be the government's official spokesperson, is not on the list. According to sources on MyNewsGh.com, the administration plans to delegate all information dissemination-related tasks to the Communications Directorate of the Presidency. The Ministries of Procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation, Parliamentary Affairs, and Sanitation are among the other ministries that are absent.
