Kobby Kyei says, "Stonebwoy helped me get my first car." Ghanaian blogger Kobby Kyei revealed how Stonebwoy, a reggae/dancehall performer, helped him buy his first car in 2020. This was revealed by the blogger on Sunday, November 3, 2024, during an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on the Onua Showtime.
He claims that after being asked by one musician to assist with behind-the-scenes videos, he first encountered Stonebwoy on the set of a music video production in 2020. After Stonebwoy commended his efforts and encouraged him to continue his good work, Kobby Kyei recalled that his meeting with the latter was a blessing. The blogger said that in an interview with the "Overlord" hitmaker, he shared his goal of helping impoverished kids in rural areas.
According to him, Stonebwoy decided to support his work and sent him a certain amount of money after speaking with him on the phone a few times. In order to support his charitable endeavors, Kobby Kyei went on to say that he utilized the funds in addition to his savings to buy his first car.
"Stonebwoy was the one who assisted me in purchasing my first vehicle. It is something I have never said before. I met him one-on-one for the first time in 2020 when he was filming a music video and an artist phoned to come and record behind-the-scenes films. He called me aside and complimented my blogging style, telling me to keep going and expand internationally because Stonebwoy had long since predicted the developments in my career.
In 2020, after exchanging contact information, he called me when I got home and we chatted for an hour. I shared with him my goal of assisting impoverished children in the hinterlands. After he requested my mobile money number, I got an alert a short while later and purchased a car, Kobby Kyei explained.
