A six-person team has been announced by President-Elect John Dramani Mahama to handle and supervise national security issues while important positions are being filled. According to a statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to the President-Elect, the team will begin its duties on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, under the direction of former Interior Minister Prosper Douglas Bani. As the new administration assumes office, the team's responsibility is to ensure a smooth transfer in national security operations, the statement stressed.
