Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso and Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi have been invited by President-elect John Dramani Mahama to attend his inauguration on Tuesday, January 7, in Accra. During courtesy visits to Presidents Tshisekedi in Kinshasa and Nguesso in Brazzaville, he made the offer.
"I wanted to encourage good neighborliness and the advantages of a more connected and integrated continent," Mr. Mahama stated as he visited different leaders to express gratitude and extend an invitation to the #MahamaInauguration on January 7. He thanked Presidents Nguesso and Tshisekedi for their cordial welcome and stimulating conversations, adding that he was looking forward to having them visit Accra.
