With its campaign song, Kwen Kwen, by well-known artist and producer Nacee, attaining the top spot on Apple Music Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is experiencing a surge of excitement. As Ghanaians across await the results of the 2024 presidential election, the song has turned into the party's campaign anthem. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has abruptly announced his defeat before the Electoral Commission's (EC) formal announcement.
John Mahama, the leader of the NDC, will be able to win a second term as Ghana's president thanks to this concession. In addition to congratulating Mr. Mahama, Dr. Bawumia urged unity in advancing the country on Sunday. At the NDC headquarters in Accra, party members are celebrating the expected victory in a joyous atmosphere. A strategic emphasis on grassroots mobilization and Kwen Kwen's inspirational ability, which has tapped into Ghanaians' desire for change, are credited by many with the campaign's success.
John Mahama himself praised the musician before the elections for his ability to match his songs to his campaign's message, calling his inventiveness unmatched. Although preliminary results from several polling places across the country show a resounding victory for John Mahama, the Electoral Commission is anticipated to declare the official results shortly. Additionally, it is anticipated that the NDC would secure a majority in Parliament, strengthening its authority to rule.
