Napo says that since I was Ashanti, Bawumia didn't pick me.

According to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia did not select him because he was Ashanti.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh denied allegations that his ethnicity and ancestry were connected to his candidacy.


Napo claims that some individuals manufactured those accusations in order to politicize Ghana's elections.
Napo said, "My lineage is true, but this argument you are making if a fringe makes an argument, it does not mean their general," before to the 8th parliament's dissolution. Bawumia didn't pick me because I was Ashanti, so it's a hoax and untrue.

Did you question Dr. Bawumia? If so, how do you approach someone who offers a unique explanation and then claim that some of the people you met say they chose Napo for that reason? He declared frankly, "That is tribalizing elections in this country."
Napo went on to say, "I have close friends and brothers on both sides, and I had paddies on both sides." He also said he most enjoyed himself inside the walls of parliament.
