It has been made clear by Abena Moet that her prior criticism of Nana Ama McBrown's credentials as a television host was harmless. Reiterating the problem on GHOne's Toast show, Abena Moet voiced her concerns over the experienced actress's move to hosting, a role that she believes does not fit with McBrown's already distinguished career. The conversation ended with Abena clarifying, "I didn't insult her." "I just voiced my doubts about her ability to function in this new role. Undoubtedly, she is an exceptional actor, but presenting on television is a very different matter. Abena brought up McBrown's well-known UTV programs, United Showbiz and Cooking with McBrown.
She maintained that even though both shows received a lot of attention, McBrown's reputation as a reliable TV host was not fully established. "The depth one would anticipate from someone attempting to establish a strong portfolio in this field was not demonstrated by these shows," she said. "Her acting roles carry more weight than her presence as a presenter." Her daring decision to switch from acting to hosting in a cutthroat media environment has sparked a continuing discussion over McBrown's transfer to television.
Before she presented United Showbiz, I had never heard of Nana Ama McBrown as a television host. #Toast #GHOneTV #EIBNetwork @maame_animwaagh pic.twitter.com/SuDLFyqtx5 — Abena Moet explains her stance
