On the Akosombo-Accra route, a car in the convoy of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the vice presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was attacked. The convoy was returning from a two-day campaign tour in the Oti Region when the event happened on November 29 between Akuse and Kpong. A police outrider allegedly led a convoy of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the attack. The driver of the impacted vehicle claims that the windscreen was smashed when an object was hurled at the vehicle. The driver believes that the NPP owned the second convoy that was a part of the attack. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any injuries.
Although the NDC has not yet responded formally, the scenario has sparked worries about the security of public people and their followers throughout the campaign.
