In the Western Region, a section of Nana Addo's statue near the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital roundabout has been demolished by an unnamed person or people. The President, who was on a trip in the Western Region, is renowned for having chosen to unveil a statue of himself there last month, which caused a stir. Social media was in a frenzy following the statue's presentation, with people asking what important act he had done that warranted a statue, with some even questioning why he would place a statue of himself on an unfinished road.
The state apparently stationed a police officer to guard the statue after rumors circulated that some individuals intended to have it taken down. The question of removing the statue resurfaced after the elections, but as of right now, it remains intact, though some of it has been demolished, and its perpetrator is unknown.
