Pastor Mensah Otabil, the senior pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, recently shared on YouTube what he considers to be Satan's top task when it comes to believers: tricking them into believing he is more powerful and strong than he truly is. According to Otabil, the devil is a "father of lies" whose primary tactic is to plant doubt and terror in the hearts of believers. Pastor Otabil noted that doubting God's might and His love for His people is the first step in Satan's deception. Otabil clarified, "Satan wants you to question your authority as a believer and to doubt who you are in Christ."
One of Satan's main strategies, he said, is this mental struggle, which aims to produce a sense of dominance. Satan, according to Otabil, focuses more on warping believers' perceptions of God and themselves than on engaging them directly.
According to him, "the devil wants to convince you that you lack the strength to stand firm and that God's promises are insufficient." If believed, this myth can cause faith to wane and increase vulnerability to anxiety, dread, and discouragement. By remaining rooted in the reality of God's word, Pastor Otabil urged people to actively oppose Satan's strategies. "Lies lose their power when we know the truth," he confirmed.
Christians tread on victorious ground because Christ has already achieved victory over Satan, he reminded them. Christians are equipped with this understanding to firmly reject Satan's attempts to create doubt and fear by putting aside false ideas and remaining true to their faith.
