Following the nullification of parliamentary results for many constituencies, Samuel Nartey George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, has accused the Ghanaian Electoral Commission (EC) and its chairperson, Jean Mensah, of committing crimes. At the Tesano Police Training Depot, the EC recently recollected and re-declared the parliamentary results for 12 constituencies. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) vehemently opposed this decision. Sam George said on his X (formerly Twitter) page that he was pleased with the Supreme Court's decision, which supported the NDC's position."I told you that with their re-collation stunts, Jean Mensah, Bossman Asare, and @ECGhanaOfficial were involved in a purely partisan and criminal action."
According to the MP, the court's decision is a step in the right direction toward guaranteeing Ghana's legal system is unbiased. We'd make sure the law now applies to all Ghanaians! He went on, "For God and Country!" Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South's re-collated parliamentary election results were declared invalid by the Supreme Court earlier today, Friday, December 27, 2024.
