According to Musah Superior, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam George was given a juicy nomination by President John Dramani Mahama in order to silence him on the anti-LGBTQ bill. His remarks follow President Mahama's hinting at his hesitancy to enact the anti-LGBTQ+ measure during a meeting with the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference. Sam George was the most vocal supporter of the anti-LGBTQ measure, according to Musah Superior. He claims that the guy he appointed as minister of communications is being intimidated by John Mahama.
