When Ghana's Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, made her first public appearance since her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, admitted loss to former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections, it was a touching comeback, according to YEN. Ghanaians have publicly praised her visit to the Princess Marie Louise Children's Hospital for its end-of-year celebrations, as they were touched by her fortitude and kindness. Mrs. Bawumia joined Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, Omanihene Kyeame of Asante Juaben, and Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I at the gathering to celebrate the occasion with the youngsters, many of whom are from disadvantaged families. As the Second Lady engaged with the youngsters and joined in the celebration, the event was a happy one, with smiles and laughter resonating throughout.
Sharing pictures from the visit on social media, Samira Bawumia expressed her appreciation for the chance to cheer up the kids and help with the heartfelt celebration. Being a part of this wonderful occasion is such a privilege. In her message, she stated that the real spirit of the season is to make these kids happy. The message immediately attracted a lot of admiration, with many Ghanaians complimenting her on her generosity and humility, particularly in view of the recent political difficulties her family had to deal with. Some lamented the election defeat, while others praised Mrs. Bawumia's steadfast dedication to service and charity in spite of the setback.
