There are still two African Cup qualifying games for the Black Stars to play. Due to their terrible performance in the last four games, the team is already in danger of being ousted from the qualification round. The team lost to Sudan in the away leg after drawing with Niger, losing to Angola at home, and losing to Sudan in the away match. With just two points, this places the squad in third place in the group. After losing against Sudan, the team's hopes of qualifying for the next AFCON, which would be held in Morocco, were dashed.
The absence of Thomas Teye Partey, a crucial defensive midfield player for Ghana, was a big contributing cause to our defeat. The midfielder, who plays a crucial role for Arsenal in the English Premier League, did not feature in Ghana's last two games despite being called up for his nation. When he played for his club team that same weekend after claiming to be unfit to play, he faced harsh criticism.
One of Ghana's leading sports writers, Owurako Ampofo, has posted on his official Twitter profile that Thomas Partey has asked to play in the team's final two group matches. Coach Otto Addo has told him why he is unable to join the team and has largely denied his request.
