During her rare appearance with her husband at the final State of the Nation's Address on January 3, 2025, Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo exemplified and demonstrated the traits of a loving and loyal wife. When the media arrived on the scene, they did their job and recorded Torkornoo as she entered the room with her security detail and her husband, pharmacist Francis Torkonoo.
She requested that the cameraman who was filming her give special attention to her husband in order to express her love and support, making sure that his moment did not take precedence over hers. The Chief Justice asked her husband to accompany her on their walk so they could be photographed together.
