The founder and head of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has made a startling reversal in his prediction about the next general elections in Ghana. Owusu Bempah backed opposition leader Mahama just months ago, predicting his triumph and praying for him.
Owusu Bempah, however, has just revealed a new course for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), cautioning them to seek spiritual guidance in order to ensure their success. Owusu Bempah claims that God showed him a vision in which he saw an elephant imprisoned in a cage, trying but failing to break free.
According to Owusu Bempah, this vision was a divine message advising the NPP to seek spiritual direction from the Lord's temple. He underlined that if the NPP doesn't, the election will turn out the way he envisioned it in the reveal. Owusu Bempah declared with assurance that he would reveal any other divine revelations pertaining to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) or the NPP.
The abrupt shift in Owusu Bempah's prophecy has many people questioning what his words mean. Others would interpret his revelation as a deliberate attempt to sway the election's outcome, while others might take it as a sincere word from God. Owusu Bempah has claimed to have correctly predicted Ghana's presidential election in the past. But he has also said that his spiritual abilities are now used to anoint and install leaders instead of only forecasting election outcomes.
One thing is certain as the country anxiously awaits the election results: the place of spirituality and prophecy in Ghanaian politics will remain a subject of interest and discussion.
