A scathing tweet by X user K. Baffour® (@LouieXiii131) denouncing Alfred Agbesi Woyome's public affiliation with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has ignited a fresh round of controversy. Baffour posted on Twitter:
"NDC, NDC, NDC!!" During our eight years of resistance, did we not learn anything? On live television, why should someone like Woyome, whose scandal cost John Mahama and the NDC dearly, be seen frolicking about them? Which message are we trying to convey?
Woyome's public defense of the Ablekuma North election results follows this criticism. Following a miscommunication between the NDC and the NPP, Woyome addressed the media at the Tesano Police Station and denied allegations made by the Electoral Commission (EC) that the NDC coerced the declaration of the results. He underlined that the EC, under the leadership of Jean Mensa, lacked the legal authority to make such a claim, particularly given that the announcement was made in front of the media and police.
"A proclamation has already been made, especially in Greater Accra North. What will they be doing tomorrow? What stance does the law adopt in this situation? Woyome asked. He also said that the right course of action was to go to court if someone thought the results were announced under duress. Woyome's latest remarks and Baffour's tweet have rekindled discussion over the business magnate's place in the current political environment, especially in light of the NDC's scandalous past.
