Sonnie Badu, a pastor and gospel musician from Ghana, has lauded President-elect John Dramani Mahama, calling him an intellectual and outstanding leader who should be studied at colleges. Badu described Mahama as "an institution" in a Facebook post, comparing his capacity for leadership to that of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president. "John Dramani Mahama is clearly an institution, and Ghana is in good hands. Universities should examine you and study your brains. After your term, I think you will be rightfully referred to as the next Kwame Nkrumah," he remarked.
Sonnie Badu's comments follow John Dramani Mahama's resounding win in the general elections of 2024, which many have hailed as a democratic success. Speaking to the New Patriotic Party as well, Sonnie Badu blamed internal division for their defeat. "To the NPP: I believe that your division was very expensive and continues to have an impact on you. It's obvious that Hopeson and others were offended by the new government's support. "Oh," he said.
