In a move to make amends, Ashanti Regional Fire Officers have apologized to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for their misconduct during the fight against the fire outbreak at Adum-PZ last Friday.

The apology came during a meeting at the Minister's office, where ACFO Peter Tetteh, Regional Commander, expressed regret for their actions.

According to ACFO Tetteh, the National Public Relations Officer was not briefed about the incidents in Kumasi, leading to a negative response to the Minister. He assured the Minister that the Fire Service has always been committed to fighting fires and preventing them in the region.

The Minister, in his response, promised to provide the necessary support to the Fire Service to ensure the smooth running of their work.

He revealed that he has called on the Ghana Water Service to help identify water hydrants to support the Fire Service's activities during fire outbreaks.

To enhance rapid response to emergencies, the Minister announced plans to set up a standing task force comprising members from the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and the National Service. This task force will assist the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), police, Fire Service, and military in providing rapid response to emergencies.

Furthermore, the Minister tasked the Fire Service to inspect the fire certification of shop owners affected by the fire outbreak at Adum-PZ. This move aims to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure that businesses operate in compliance with fire safety regulations.

The apology and the Minister's response mark a positive step towards resolving the issues between the Fire Service and the Regional Minister's office. By working together, they can strengthen their response to fire incidents and promote public safety in the Ashanti Region.

As the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene plays a crucial role in overseeing the administration of the region. His support for the Fire Service is essential in ensuring they have the necessary resources and backing to carry out their duties effectively.
