The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organizer for the Eastern Region, Richard Nyarko, popularly known as Bilibo, has issued a stern warning to Ghanaians, claiming that a ball of kenkey could cost GHC 30 and a gallon of petrol GHC 300 if they vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the next general election.

According to Bilibo, the current prices of kenkey and petrol are the result of poor governance and economic mismanagement by the NPP government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He therefore urged Ghanaians to be cautious of the promises being made by the NPP ahead of the 2024 general election.

"If Ghanaians make the mistake of voting for the NPP and Bawumia in the next general election, they should be prepared to buy a ball of kenkey for 30 cedis and a gallon of petrol for 300 cedis. This is the reality if we give power to the NPP again," he warned.

Bilibo further highlighted that the NDC has policies and measures in place to stabilize the economy and reduce the cost of living for Ghanaians. He cited initiatives such as the 24-hour economy, the exemption of certain taxes to ease the burden on parents, and the reduction of utility tariffs to lower living costs.

He urged Ghanaians to focus on the track record of the NDC and ignore the promises being made by the NPP. "Ghanaians should not be swayed by the empty promises of the NPP. We have seen the good work of the NDC in past governments, and we should give them the chance to continue their good work," Bilibo stated.

He also called on Ghanaians to hold the NPP government accountable for the promises made during the 2016 and 2020 elections, pointing out that the NPP had promised to reduce the cost of living and create jobs but has failed to deliver on these commitments.

In conclusion, Bilibo urged Ghanaians to vote wisely in the next general election and not be misled by the NPP’s promises. He assured that the NDC government would continue to work hard to improve the lives of Ghanaians and ensure a better future for all.
