Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi Central in the Western Region, has firmly denied allegations linking her to illegal mining activities. In a statement, she addressed what she described as a deliberate effort by political opponents to tarnish her image.

"I categorically deny these allegations and reaffirm my strong stance against illegal mining," Joana Gyan stated, emphasizing her commitment to environmental and legal standards in her business ventures.

She highlighted her role as the leader of Golden Empire Legacy Limited, a licensed and regulated company that exports gold in full compliance with environmental and legal regulations. According to her, the company has always promoted sustainable and environmentally conscious business practices.

"For years, I have championed socially responsible practices, opposing the destruction of our environment, water pollution, and the exploitation of natural resources," she reiterated, affirming her opposition to the harmful impacts of illegal mining.

Joana Gyan urged the public to disregard what she called "baseless claims" being circulated by her political rivals, noting that these accusations were not only unfounded but also malicious.

The statement comes as Joana Gyan prepares for the upcoming 2024 general elections, where she aims to represent the people of Amenfi Central in Parliament.
