The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has called on the electorate to vote massively for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7, for the continuity and economic prosperity of the county.

She also called on the electorate to vote for the NPP Parliamentary Candidates in the Krobo enclave to help continue the good works of the government.

The Second Lady made the call at a campaign rally in the Asuogyaman Constituency where toured the Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo Constituencies.

She was accompanied by the parliamentary aspirants during the tour.

She said it was only by voting for the NPP that the good intention of the party for the country could be achieved.

She called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to put their trust in Dr Bawumia as he would lead the country further into prosperity.

Mrs Bawumia said by voting for the NPP led by Dr Bawumia, the Free SHS, Agenda 111, free TVET, payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances could be continued.

Outlining Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the country if voted as President, she said, “Bawumia means jobs, Bawumia means business, and he says he’s going to create one million digital jobs.”

According to her, the NPP was a party that could fulfil its campaign promises and, therefore, called on voters to vote massively for their Parliamentary Candidates including Pius Enam Hadzide for Asuogyaman, Simon Kweku Tetteh for Lower Manya Krobo and Dr Twum Barimah for Yilo Krobo.

At Asuogyaman, she called on the electorate to vote massively for the CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Hadzide as he was young and vibrant and had the good of the people at heart.

She said voting otherwise in both the presidential and parliamentary elections was going to set the country back in terms of development and, therefore, asked them to vote wisely.

Praising Mr. Hadzide’s development driven agenda in the Constituency even as a Parliamentary Candidate, the aspiring first lady expressed optimism that the Asuogyaman Constituency would see a lot more development if he represents them in the august house of parliament.

“Even though he’s yet to become a member of parliament, look at his good works, he’ll surely do a lot more if you send him to parliament,” said Mrs. Bawumia, urging the people not to be discouraged by the purported NDC dominance in the area.
Attributing the NDC’s dominance over the NPP in the Zongos to the former’s deception, the second lady averred:

“The NDC has told the Zongos that the NPP is not their party but today, we realize that, that’s not the case. NPP is a party of unity, every Ghanaian have their share.”
Mr Hadzide, for his part, said he had a vision of transforming the well-being of women in the constituency by ensuring they were economically and socially empowered through financial supports to expand their businesses.

He pledged to expand and continue a financing scheme for market women in the constituency when given the mandate to be their MP.

Urging the electorate to vote for Dr. Mahamadu, he expressed confidence that the NPP flagbearer would be the first President in the fourth republic to swear the oath of office with the Holy Quran.

According to him, the NPP government has lived up to expectations in the Asuogyaman area, arguing that the NDC, despite enjoying massive support from the people over the years has done very little towards developing the area.

“The NPP has not disappointed Asuogyaman,” said Mr. Hadzide. “As I speak, there’s a hospital built for Asuogyaman…the Agenda 111 hospital project has been built by the NPP government…the NDC has won all presidential elections in Asuogyaman but have done nothing significant here, we’ve not had any benefits from voting for them.”

He also pointed out the Tema-Mpakadan railway line, which he said would facilitate transportation between Tema and Asuogyaman and prayed the electorate to retain the NPP to ensure that the project is not abandoned.

Mr. Hadzide also accused the sitting MP, Thomas Ampem Nyarko of failing to prioritize the needs of the electorate.
Assuring the Muslim community of his support, the Parliamentary Candidate promised to support and facilitate their pilgrimage to Mecca if voted into office as MP for the area.
