Mr. Ayisah Foster, the Managing Editor of The Punch Newspaper has debunked claims by some critics, politicians and media houses in the country that the second coming of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama will see to the cancellation of the free senior high school policy.

According to him, those perpetrating such lies against Mr John Mahama are myopic and desperate to retain power.

He was of the view that, John Dramani Mahama started the progressive implementation of the free senior high school policy with the establishment of the E- block infrastructure projects across the entire country.

The reason was to create more spaces in our schools so that students would not face accommodation and classroom challenges when the policy is implemented.

Another bold decision he made was the introduction of one hot afternoon meal for all day students in 2016 where all day students were made to go to the dinning hall for free when he was the President.

The current NPP leadership led by Dr. Bawumia is desperate for power in the face lies and deception.

How on earth would a person who started the implementation of a policy turn round to cancel it if given the opportunity for its implementation.

Mr. Ayisah was reacting to a call by Mr. Collins Owusu Amankwaa, former Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, on Ghanaians to prioritise safeguarding the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative as the nation heads to the polls this Saturday, December 7, 2024.

In a heartfelt message, the former MP who spoke on behalf of the Ashanti Heritage Platform (AHP) highlighted the critical need for voters to make decisions that protect the future of the country’s youth and resist temptations that could undermine progress.

But Mr. Ayisah Foster stated emphatically that there is no way President John Dramani Mahama will cancel free SHS but rather his Presidency will make free education better for all.

He urged Ghanaians to disregard such lies from the ruling New Patriotic Party because they did nothing prudent in their eight years rule under the Nana Akufo Addo and Dr Bawumia government which only succeeded in subjecting the entire country to economic mess.
