Residents of 126 communities in the Amenfi Central Constituency of the Western Region have issued a strong warning to the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, demanding the reversal of its decision to disqualify the NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe. They have given the EC a one-week ultimatum to address the issue.

The residents made it clear that they will not accept any election materials for the constituency if Joana Gyan Cudjoe's image is missing from the ballot. They vowed to resist any attempt to proceed with the elections without her participation.

During a peaceful protest march in Kwakuboah, accompanied by a health screening exercise, the demonstrators expressed their disappointment and frustration over the EC's decision, describing it as wrongful and unjust. They believe that the disqualification of their candidate is politically motivated, allegedly influenced by the independent candidate, Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah, in collaboration with the NPP.

The community members called on the National Peace Council to step in and mediate, warning that failure to do so could lead to unrest in the constituency.
