A comprehensive screening exercise was conducted across various communities within the Amanfi Central Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana, organized by the Joanna Gyan Foundation. The initiative aimed to provide free medical care to residents and distribute sanitary pads to girls and women in these communities.

The week-long exercise involved a team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, who offered free medical consultations and treatments to over 30,000 residents. The team conducted screenings for a range of ailments, including malaria, diabetes, hypertension, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), breast health issues, gonorrhea, as well as eye, ear, and nose conditions.

In addition to the medical services, the team distributed free medication to those in need, providing significant relief to many residents who otherwise could not afford such care.

A major highlight of the exercise was the distribution of over 30,000 sanitary pads to girls and women in the communities, courtesy of the Joanna Gyan Foundation. This initiative aimed to promote menstrual health and hygiene among young girls and women in the constituency, supporting their well-being and education.

The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the residents, who expressed their deep gratitude to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe, for her generosity. Many residents stated that they had never before received such comprehensive free medical care, and they lauded the distribution of sanitary pads as a vital support for women in the area.

The Joanna Gyan Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in uplifting the lives of people in the Amanfi Central Constituency. This latest initiative is one of many projects led by the foundation to improve the health and welfare of the residents.

In conclusion, the successful screening and distribution exercise carried out by the Joanna Gyan Foundation reflects the commitment of the NDC parliamentary candidate to enhancing the quality of life in the Amanfi Central Constituency. It also underscores the importance of providing accessible healthcare and promoting good hygiene practices in the community.
