Alhaji Ayaana, a 65-year-old businessman and philanthropist from Tamale, is on an extraordinary mission, walking 250 kilometers from Kumasi to Accra to witness the swearing-in of President-elect John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025. This remarkable journey is his way of honoring Mahama’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.

Alhaji Ayaana began his trek after traveling by vehicle from Tamale to Kumasi then continued on foot from there. Alhaji Ayaana’s symbolic walks have a rich history. In 1997, he undertook a similar trek to commemorate the second-term inauguration of former President Jerry John Rawlings. In 1999, he organized a 16-kilometer peace and health walk in Tamale on Independence Day, promoting unity and physical well-being.

His latest journey was announced on December 21, 2024, after he completed a 19-kilometer health walk from Yakubu Tali International Airport to Jubilee Park in Tamale. These initiatives reflect his unwavering commitment to peace, health, and national unity.

As he continues his journey, Alhaji Ayaana hopes to inspire others to prioritize physical fitness and national cohesion.
