A bank teller and his spouse were killed in a terrible road accident in the Ashanti Region, according to GHOne TV today, shortly after they had departed for home after an evening event.
It was alleged that the couple, who were identified as Emmanuel Kusi and his wife Margaret, were returning to their home in Kumasi following a family reunion in Mamponteng.
Along the Ankaase-Mamponteng section, witnesses reported that the couple's Toyota Corolla struck a fast tipper truck head-on.
One spectator described it as "heartbreaking." Although we raced to the scene, we were unable to accomplish much. Both of them were stuck in the car.
Friends characterized Emmanuel, who worked for a well-known Kumasi bank, and Margaret, a creative seamstress, as a loving pair who were inseparable. A few weeks ago, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, according to a close cousin.
Emmanuel's relative Kwadwo Mensah remarked, "They were the ideal couple." He was often talking about how much he valued Margaret. It's hard to think that they both vanished so quickly.
The truck driver's careless driving was the cause of the collision, according to the police.
According to Ghana Police Service Inspector Opoku Mensah, "preliminary investigations indicate that the tipper truck driver was speeding and lost control, veering into the lane of the oncoming car."
The truck driver has since been placed under arrest for additional interrogation after suffering minor wounds.
People who live along the Ankaase-Mamponteng section have expressed worry about the road's small layout and inadequate lighting, claiming that these factors lead to a high number of accidents in the area.
Another local complained, "This road is a death trap." "How many lives have to be lost before something is taken action on?"
Family members, friends, and coworkers have been expressing their sorrow on social media as word of the tragedy has spread.
A bank colleague wrote, "This is a heavy loss for all of us." "Emmanuel was a brother in addition to being a coworker. Margaret and Kusi, get plenty of rest.
Two children, ages one and three, who were fortunately not in the car when the tragedy occurred, are left behind by the couple. Family members have called for prayers and support as they work through this trying time, expressing their tremendous sadness.
