Executive Director of EduWatch, Kofi Asare has disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the 2024 elections because they misgoverned.
He explains that the mis-governance was also man-made and therefore the party should not blame it on any other thing.
Kofi Asare cited arrogance of power, inability to see the need to fight corruption and impunity; untamed appetite by party bigwigs to destroy our forest and water through galamsay as the foremost cause of the NPP’s defeat.
The Executive Director of EduWatch made these known while responding to Lawyer Ekow Vincent Assafuah’s claim that the NPP could not communicate its challenges to the people of Ghana.
His tweet read “Your biggest challenge was your inability to see the need to fight corruption and impunity; Untamed appetite by party bigwigs to destroy our forest and water through galamsay.
We had a finance minister who profited from the reckless borrowing that plunged the economy into a debt abyss, yet you publicly saw nothing wrong b’cos he was one of you. Others created $ banks in their bedrooms and were pampered. Even when citizens begged, you drilled e-levy down their throats b’cos ‘we are in power’-Sticka.
You clamped down on free speech, recorded one of the worse press freedom index in the 4th Republic, ‘jailed’ civilian protestors for over a week just to show them ‘where power lies’…and tagged everyone who complained as NDC. Now that you are truly seeing where REAL power lies, how else would you have explained these as ‘challenges’ to me and still made sense? Your only challenge was mis-governance; and it was man-made”.
