When President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's personal security guard fainted during the session today, January 3, 2024, his final State of the Nation Address in Parliament took an unexpected turn.

During the President's final speech to the country, the momentous event took place.

Shortly after he fainted, the guard who was stationed nearby was observed fidgeting, briefly interrupting the proceedings.

With prompt action, medical staff helped the unconscious guard and escorted him out of the chamber for emergency treatment.

Television reports said the guard had looked nervous just before the incident.

Paramedics on duty at the parliamentary building acted quickly, treating him and taking him outside for more care.

When President Akufo-Addo confirmed that the situation was being handled, he stayed composed and carried on with his speech.
