Ironically, on Friday, December 20, 2024, Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen paid President-elect John Dramani Mahama a courtesy call at his office.

The meeting came after Alan Kyerematen had sent Mahama a congratulations note praising him for winning the recently concluded presidential election.

President-elect John Mahama received a copy of Alan Kyerematen's Great Transformation Plan (GTP) at the meeting, signifying his willingness to impart knowledge and creative approaches to further the country's development.

Public opinion has been divided over Alan Kyerematen's visit to President-elect Mahama, especially among those in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he left in order to run for president.

On social media, several NPP members have mocked Alan Kyerematen, claiming that he is trying to get a job in Mahama's next administration.

Notably, though, Alan Kyerematen's encounter with Mahama was motivated by more than just his own interests.

Regardless of political allegiance, it was instead an act of goodwill and a declaration of his dedication to Ghana's development.

At the conference, Alan Kyerematen underlined his goal of promoting a government of national unity that goes beyond political interests and fostering togetherness through constructive engagement.

In response, President-elect Mahama hailed Alan Kyerematen as a political titan who has a forward-thinking attitude to national challenges.

In spite of his disappointment for the internal NPP politics that resulted in Alan Kyerematen's exit, he wished the party well.

Additionally, Mahama acknowledged the transformative potential of Alan Kyerematen's GTP and accepted that Alan would be given credit for any ideas that were taken from the plan.
