A youngster was among the several people who were suspected to have been hurt when Otumfuo's group was attacked by Techiman youth yesterday evening, December 2, 2024.


The young people of Techiman reportedly stormed the bus as it was making its way back to Kumasi from Nkoranza after escorting the Asantehene to a funeral there.

According to accounts, some young people from Techiman threatened to assault anyone who planned to travel through Techiman before the funeral because of an incident involving the Asanteman caravan.

EDHUB released a video that went viral showing some Techiman youngsters blocking the bus and hurling stones at it, shattering the windows of the VIP vehicle. The violent attack on the bus harmed multiple people, including a toddler.

The passengers on the bus that was attacked in the video requested that anyone near the bus windows report the act. They should not return to Kumasi after this occurrence, a woman on the bus was heard saying.

The bus's driver halted to inspect the damage the young people had caused, and the occupant was later seen getting out.

Victims of the violent altercation were injured and received medical care.
