Since a plaque with Koku Anyidoho's name at Accra's Asomdwoe Park was vandalized recently, the debate surrounding the bust placed in honor of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills has reappeared.

The argument between Koku Anyidoho and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the late president's family is the most recent in a string of disputes.

An altercation between Koku Anyidoho and the NDC, which included Atta Mills' family, interrupted a memorial service for the late President on July 24, 2024, sparking the conflict.

Koku Anyidoho's event went longer than scheduled, which caused the second event that the NDC and the JEA Mills Memorial Heritage were planning to be delayed. This was the beginning of the argument.

In addition, Koku Anyidoho was accused by the late President's brother, Samuel Atta-Mills, of bringing "fake family members" to the ceremony, which heightened tensions.

In a social media post, Koku Anyidoho wrote, "I cry when I see the vandalized plaque…because when I look at the kind of things going on, it is a worrying situation for our country."

This emotional reaction reveals the long-standing animosity between him and the NDC party and the family of the late president.
