Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a Democracy Hub organizer and activist, has sharply refuted claims that he is affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

His rebuttal comes after Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin had called him a “notorious member of the NDC” during a meeting of the Appointments Committee.

In his January 29 appearance before the Committee regarding claims of bribery by NDC members in Parliament during the screening of ministerial candidates, Barker-Vormawor explained his political position.

In light of the continuous discussions in Ghana about accountability, transparency, and governance, his comments underline his political independence.

"I must regrettably respond to the allegations that he is a well-known member of the NDC. Everyone claims to be an NDC member now that the NDC has won. But this isn't true at all. I have never before belonged to the NDC.

"It is my hope that my ideology, which has always been expressed, will continue to be reflected in my consistent voting for the CPP."

Barker-Vormawor expressed regret for his previous Facebook post, but he categorically refuted claims that members of the NDC committee took bribes from ministerial candidates.
