The New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s Charles Forson has been proclaimed the Tema Central Member of Parliament-elect after the Accra High Court's final collation process was completed.

The High Court ordered the Electoral Commission to complete the collation of results from the two polling stations and recalculate the total votes for the constituency, and the final collation and declaration procedure complied with that order.

Francis Twum, the deputy returning officer, officially declared that Forson had won by a slim margin based on the results of 148 voting places, including the two that were still open.

By a margin of 55 votes, he received 18,870 votes, surpassing National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Ebi Bright, who received 18,815 votes.

Tema Central's parliamentary representation has been confirmed with this announcement, which furthers the results of the hotly disputed general election in 2024.

With this, the NPP now holds 90 seats in the legislature.

The final three constituencies have not yet had their results released.
