Controlled fire at Ashaiman Toll Booth - GNFS

The fire that spread to the Ashaiman Toll Booth Area behind the China Mall in Accra on Monday, December 30, 2024, has been effectively contained by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The Ghana Fire Service verified the incident had been effectively handled in a post on their Facebook page.

The Ashaiman Toll Booth Area fire behind the China Mall has been contained as of right now. According to the post, "there are several firemen on the scene."

Since January through November of this year, the GNFS has documented 5,596 fire outbreaks, up 6.43 percent from 5,258 during the same period last year.

According to the Service, some of the primary causes of fire outbreaks include severe weather, public noncompliance with fire safety precautions, traffic accidents, electrical malfunctions, and gas leaks.
