At Aburi-Kitase in the Eastern Region's Akuapem South Municipality, a 13-year-old girl was kidnapped by four unidentified males on Friday and barely survived a suspected ritual death.

The adolescent vanished at around 8 p.m. on en route to Kitase to buy food. He lives close to the home of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

According to sources who spoke to Citi News, the kidnappers had shackled the girl's hands and legs and were allegedly getting ready to cut her breast. However, after a good Samaritan discovered their actions and fired warning shots, they left the place.

The Kitase Electoral Area Assembly Member, Frank Amankwah, verified the event in an interview with Citi News. He also connected the area's increasing insecurity to the broken lighting along the Ayi Mensah to Peduase Lodge stretch.

Amankwah urged the Inspector General of Police to deal with the growing number of social vices in the vicinity of the Peduase Presidential Lodge and to increase local security.

"More than once, I have complained about these traffic problems. The street lights located from Ayi Mensah to Peduase Lodge are completely out of commission. We are unable to determine the origin of this as boys from Ashiaman, Madina, Nungua, and other surrounding towns all gather here.

“So, I am pleading for adequate security in the area. It is very unfortunate how loose the security is in Peduase Lodge. I plead with the IGP and all the security apparatus to come to our aid.” he urged.
