Before the 2024 general elections, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, sent the president a book with the Ashanti region's developmental agenda to help him with his administration, according to former Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong.

Sarpong claims that during his campaign, Mahama made a courtesy call to the Asantehene, during which he handed the manifesto.

Otumfuo had high expectations for Mahama to win the elections, so Sarpong indicated, therefore the book was provided to him so he could plan ahead for how he would develop the area.
