Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration appointed statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils, all of which have had their board memberships terminated by President John Dramani Mahama.

As to the Presidential (changeover) Act, 2012 (Act 845), this instruction essentially terminates the terms of a number of prominent figures on January 7, 2025, the day after the presidential changeover.

Here are six well-known individuals impacted by this directive:

Paul Adom Otchere
The seasoned journalist and media personality served as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) since his appointment in September 2021. Adom Otchere previously held a position as a board member of the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Kwami Sefa Kayi
Renowned broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi was a member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) board, a role he assumed in August 2021. His responsibilities included overseeing activities such as license issuance, monitoring fuel stations, and regulating Bulk Distribution Companies.

Stephen Ayesu Ntim
The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) served as the Board Chairman of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) after his appointment in May 2024. He was sworn into office by the then Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

Elizabeth Ohene
Journalist and former Education Minister, Elizabeth Ohene, chaired the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) board. She was part of a 13-member team inaugurated by the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, in August 2021.
Kwaku Sakyi-Addo
The veteran broadcaster and communications specialist served as the Board Chairman of the Minerals Development Fund from September 2021. He had also chaired the National Communications Authority board in 2017.

Kwame Baffoe
Politician and outspoken figure, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, is another individual whose board membership has ceased following the directive.
The dissolution paves the way for President Mahama to appoint new members to oversee the operations of these critical state institutions.
