Approximately $138.7 million in financial help would be lost by Ghana this year as a result of the United States' decision to stop funding HIV/AIDS initiatives.

The money was intended to promote important areas like governance, economic growth, health, and education. It was requested under the USAID Foreign Assistance Discretionary Request Report. According to a Joy News source, "Ghana receives more than $130 million in aid annually on average." "USAID provided over $150 million in bilateral assistance last year alone, with that amount going toward governance, education, health, and agriculture, among other vital areas.

Ghana requested $138.7 million this year, but that sum will no longer be available. The health sector, which requested $69.2 million in funding to fight malaria, improve health security, improve maternity and child health, improve family planning, improve reproductive health, and improve nutrition, will be among the most severely impacted.

US funding has been cut off, putting these vital services in jeopardy.
