During a Good Morning Ghana broadcast on Metro TV, which MyNewsGH is watching, veteran journalist Kweku Baako talked candidly about the early years of his long-lasting friendship with Kwesi Pratt Jr. and shared poignant memories.

When Baako reflected on their decades-long relationship, he detailed how their matching personalities and political beliefs created an unbreakable bond.

"It felt natural when we first met; we clicked right away," Baako smiled as she recalled. "We found that we shared a lot of things, including our political views, motivations, and even life outlooks."

When Baako invited Pratt to stay with him and his family in Labone, he recalled that moment.

As they shared a room and even a bed at that time, their bond deepened. Baako stated that the experience not only bolstered their friendship but also set the stage for future partnerships, saying, "It felt right to extend that support he was a promising young journalist."

Baako's stepmother was first hesitant about Pratt relocating. She was initially unsure, but over time, she came to appreciate what I saw in him. “In the end, she fully accepted him,” he clarified, highlighting the familial bonds that had grown.

As a result of their common goal, a journal was established, with Baako serving as editor and Pratt's expertise becoming crucial to the endeavor. "Kwesi's enthusiasm and commitment were clear right away.

He played a significant role in what we were building,” Baako remarked, crediting their teamwork as a cornerstone of their professional achievements.

Despite the close bond they shared, rumours have occasionally surfaced about the discord between the two.

In a previous interview on Good Evening Ghana, Pratt dismissed these claims, emphasizing that their relationship remains intact.

“I may disagree with him on certain issues, but that does not mean there is a rift,” he clarified.

Pratt addressed the perceived distance between them, attributing it to life’s natural progression.

“We used to share a room, but now we are both married with families. It’s not a problem—it’s just life,” he stated.

“I’ve never had personal issues with Kweku. My disagreements with him are purely ideological, the same way I sometimes disagree with the president.”
