In light of recent developments in his life and the country, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) vice president and presidential candidate in the 2024 elections, has once again thanked the Almighty God.

As a special visitor at the Lighthouse Chapel in East Legon, Accra, Dr. Bawumia spoke to the congregation at the 31st Watch Night Service. He gave a reflection on the recent elections and thanked God.

"Let's everyone have a happy new year. "This New Year, let's hope for more and better things," Dr. Bawumia said, as the throng erupted in cheers.

"We have gone through an election, and I want to thank God for His blessings upon myself and the country, Ghana," he continued.

Invoking the Bible, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of expressing appreciation to God in every situation.

In Chapter 5, Verse 18, of the book of Thessalonians, we are instructed to give thanks to God for everything. My faith in the Lord is steadfast. We are thus thanking Him for everything He has done for us. I am aware that God has a plan for me that includes better and more prosperous days ahead," he declared.

In addition, Dr. Bawumia and his wife Samira thanked the congregation and the church's founder, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, for their cordial welcome.

"We are grateful that you have allowed us to wish you a happy new year. "May God grant you and Ghana blessings," he said.
