A 50-year-old petrol station owner named Martin Okyere was shot and killed by two armed thieves at Gomoa Akotsi in the Central Region early on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
Richmond Agyei, an eyewitness, claimed that he hurried to the location after hearing several gunshots.
When he arrived, he discovered Mr. Okyere lying in a pool of blood and the burglars rifling through the deceased's room.
In their efforts to save Mr. Okyere, Agyei and the deceased's daughter barely survived.
Unfortunately, he died as a result of his gunshot wounds.
The deceased's family is demanding justice, and Martin's sister, Lucas Esi, is pleading with the Ghana Police Service to make sure that those responsible are held accountable.
This is the second attack on a gas station this week.
One person was killed when armed bandits opened fire at a gas station in Dormabin, Krachi East Municipality, Oti Region.
Isaac Dampoki, the victim, had gone to the filling station to buy fuel when the thieves, who were armed with high-tech weapons, broke in and started shooting intermittently, according to witnesses.
