The founder of the Atta Mills Institute and former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has declined to accept any position in the new John Dramani Mahama cabinet.

Koku Anyidoho asserted in a December 27, 2024, post on X (previously Twitter) that he does not need a government job to succeed, saying that his goal of upholding the legacy of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills is sufficient.

Once more: I'm not interested in any positions in John Mahama's administration. He wrote, "God will provide for me as long as I continue President Atta-Mills' legacy."

After losing to Johnson Asiedu Nketia in the 2018 election for the position of NDC General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho has often argued with important members of the party, such as the current chairman and former President Mahama.

Some have often perceived his criticism of the party leadership as animosity. He has continuously denied these allegations, stating that his criticism is motivated by a wish to see the party prosper.

Reiterating that he does not rely on government employment for his livelihood, Koku Anyidoho responded to criticism from NDC supporters following the party's victory in the general elections of 2024.

Just so you know, I never held a position on any board under Presidents Mills or Mahama. So, if you're thinking that I won't be serving on any boards during JM's second term, please don't laugh yourself to death. He said in another message, "God will keep me upgraded."
