It is not easy being president. On January 7, 2024, a colorful investiture ceremony was held in honor of newly installed Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama at the famous Black Star Square. The task before of him is just as huge.

It was a show of political tradition and cultural pride, and it signaled the start of what is expected to be a difficult term for the seasoned politician.

The nation's seat of power, Jubilee House, was stormed by President Mahama hours after the pomp and circumstance, indicating that he was prepared to take on the difficult business of governing.

A calm Mahama made small talk with his new team members as he walked confidently to his office, as seen in a video posted by Joy News and seen by MyNewsGh.

Many people were aware of the symbolic significance of this gesture, which was the first step in carrying out his widely reported "Resetting Agenda," a catchphrase that characterized his campaign and won him millions of supporters.

This is not the first time Mahama has been in charge. The corridors of power are familiar to him, having been President from 2012 to 2017.

The stakes are bigger this time, though. From economic recovery to reestablishing confidence in governance, Ghana has numerous obstacles.

A society desperate for change and real progress has made the "Resetting Agenda" both a promise and a burden.
