Elikplim Akurugu and Sarah Adwoa Safo spotted at the Katanka Technology Expo
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Elikplim Akurugu, was recently spotted with the outgoing Member of Parliament for the area, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at the Kantanka Technology Expo on Monday, December 30, 2024.

The pair were captured at the event in a candid moment.

This development comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) recently announced plans of a rerun of the parliamentary elections at the Abokobi Women’s Development Center 2 polling station, a decision that has stirred controversy within the constituency.

The update, shared by Broadcast Journalist Serwaa Amihere on her social media page, stated, "NDC's Dome Kwabenya PC Elikplim Akurugu spotted with outgoing MP for the constituency, Sara Adwoa Safo, at Kantanka Technology Expo."

The rerun has caused tension between the two major political parties.

The NDC has argued that the rerun is unnecessary, claiming that their candidate, Elikplim Akurugu, has already emerged victorious.

On the other hand, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) remains optimistic that their candidate, Mike Oquaye Jr., will win.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the EC announced that the results from the polling station had been invalidated due to errors in recording on an incorrect sheet, instead of the required pink sheet.

The rerun is intended to determine the final outcome of the parliamentary race, which is still undecided.
