Patrick Yaw Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was able to maintain his seat as the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central in the most recent parliamentary elections. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq, lost the election to him after a fierce battle.

According to the Electoral Commission, Patrick Yaw Boamah garnered 21,099 votes, while Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq, his primary rival, received 19,368 votes. After counting all of the votes from the constituency's 141 polling places, the final results were declared.

Deputy Returning Officer Harrison Kwabena Agyapa of Okaikwei Central stated that the results, which were collated in accordance with a court order, comprised 31 unresolved polling stations. As a result, all votes were counted prior to the winner being declared.

Patrick Yaw Boamah thanked God and expressed his faith in the democratic process in a media appearance following his victory. He said, "We always thought the numbers wouldn't change, and we had to follow due process. We praise God for a nonviolent declaration and workout.

This win reinforces Patrick Yaw Boamah's role in Parliament, enabling him to continue serving the people of Okaikwei Central. Meanwhile, Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq from the NDC has not yet made a public statement regarding the election results.

The election in Okaikwei Central was conducted peacefully, with no incidents of violence or disruptions reported. Both candidates campaigned vigorously, but the NPP candidate ultimately emerged victorious, demonstrating his support among the voters.
