Ghanaian blogger, Bongo Ideas claims Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie was bought and paid for by the outgoing Akufo-Addo government.

According to him, the rapper who was once vocal about the nation’s challenges went mute the moment the Akufo-Addo government assumed power in 2017.

A post made by Bongo Ideas on X indicate that Sarkodie enjoyed numerous perks from the Akufo-Addo government, which made it impossible for him to criticize the government regardless of the dire economic challenges in Ghana.

Bongo Ideas further revealed the perks enjoyed by Sarkodie were ones reserved for government appointees and ministers.

The blogger also claimed the musician received a V8 Land Cruiser from the government which was a sweet deal, leading him to stay mute amidst the challenges in the country.

“Close sources say Sarkodie was gifted a minister’s V8 Land Cruiser which he now drives to events!”

“He reportedly enjoys other high-end perks reserved for govt appointees which has influenced him to stay mute,” Bongo Ideas’ post on X read.

He further charged the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team to take on this matter and bring the rapper to book.

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is a known sympathizer of the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. Leading into the 2020 general elections, the rapper tricked colleague musician, Kuami Eugene into recording a song which endorsed Akufo-Addo’s second term campaign and sparked outrage amongst a section of the Ghanaian public.
