New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organizer Salam Mustapha has admitted the party's resounding loss in the December 7 elections in an open and reflective statement.
Salam Mustapha gives a thoughtful and sympathetic analysis of the party's defeat in a statement that has been extensively circulated on social media. It also lays forth a plan for reconstruction and atonement.
First, Mustapha acknowledged the hurt and disillusionment that NPP supporters—especially the young people—had experienced after making significant financial investments in the campaign. "I sense the separation of your spirits and souls," he wrote.
I can feel your sadness, especially for the young people who devoted their lives to this fight. It hurts and saddens me more that we let you down.
The NPP youth organizer accepted responsibility for the party's loss and admitted that he and the other national officials should take the majority of the blame.
He said, "You can vent your spleen and have a tirade." It's acceptable to attack our national executives. Taking your derision, criticism, and even insults is essential due to the notion of ultimate accountability.
A number of factors, including the indifference of its base and the economic problems that many Ghanaians faced, contributed to the party's defeat, according to Mustapha.
He demanded that the election results be thoroughly examined after the fact in order to determine the reasons for the loss and to guide the party's efforts to recover.
In agreement with the party's flagbearer, Mustapha said, "We will regroup and come back harder."
Together, we can pick up the pieces, fix them, and go on. Although it will be difficult, it is feasible.
The NPP Youth Organiser stated that he was determined to focus his efforts on reviving the party and returning to its winning ways.
Additionally, he called on party members to put up positive suggestions for important reforms that would help the party recover.
"I have so much faith and confidence in our group's strength and determination, and I know we'll come back stronger than ever," he declared.
