According to the report by GHOne TV today, a police vehicle was involved in a road accident on the N1 Highway in Ghana while chasing suspected gangsters.

The incident occurred on the morning of January 10, 2025, when officers in a patrol car attempted to apprehend a group of armed criminals believed to be involved in various robberies in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the police vehicle was speeding along the highway, following a car suspected to be carrying the gang members.

In the heat of the pursuit, the police vehicle lost control and swerved off the road, crashing into a nearby barrier.

The vehicle suffered significant damage, but fortunately, the officers inside managed to escape with only minor injuries.

"We were on our way to work when we saw the police car driving fast and chasing another vehicle. Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the police vehicle veered off the road," said Nana Kofi, a resident who witnessed the accident.

"It was a scary moment, but we were relieved to see the officers get out of the car, even though they looked shaken."

The suspected gangsters, however, managed to escape during the chaos. Despite the accident, the police have assured the public that they are continuing their efforts to capture the criminals.

"The officers were responding to a tip-off about a gang operating in the area. While we regret the accident, the safety of the public remains our priority," said Police spokesperson ACP Akua Boateng.

"We are doing everything we can to bring the suspects to justice."

Many people in the community have expressed their concern about the growing number of robberies in the area, and the incident has sparked further debate about the safety of road pursuits.

Some residents feel that high-speed chases might endanger other drivers, while others support the police's actions in trying to catch dangerous criminals.

"We understand that the police need to catch these criminals, but we also want to feel safe on the roads," said Kwame Asamoah, a concerned citizen.

The police have promised to investigate the accident and review their chase protocols to ensure that future pursuits do not put the public at risk.

The search for the gangsters is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
