President Mahama declares the initial group of nominees for ministers.

The first group of ministerial nominees announced by President John Dramani Mahama have been sent to the Speaker of Parliament in compliance with Article 78 of the 1992 Ghanaian Constitution. A crucial step in the President's commitment to putting together a capable team to lead national development is represented by these nominees.

Among the candidates announced are:

The Minister for Finance Designee, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson

The Minister of Energy Designate, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor

Honorable Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Attorney General and Designated Minister of Justice

With extensive knowledge of public finance, macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and business management, Dr. Forson is a skilled economist, chartered accountant, and tax professional. As a seasoned lawmaker in his fifth term in Parliament, Dr. Forson's academic background is excellent.

He has a Master of Science degree in Economics and Taxation from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Finance from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Furthermore, he graduated from London South Bank University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His in-depth knowledge of fiscal policy puts him in a strong position to manage the country's finances.

Energy Designate Minister Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor


Hon. Jinapor is widely recognized for his hands-on experience, competence, and innovative approach to the energy sector. His comprehensive qualifications in energy economics and finance make him an ideal candidate to address Ghana’s energy challenges and foster transformation in the sector.

His academic achievements include a Master of Arts (MA) in Economic Policy Management, an MBA in Marketing, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Finance from the University of Ghana. He also holds an MSc in Energy Economics from GIMPA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London.

Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine – Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate

Dr. Ayine is a senior lawyer with over three decades of experience in legal practice. He is a former Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice and the founding partner of Ayine & Partners Law Offices. His academic accolades include a PhD in Law from Stanford University, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana. Dr. Ayine has also lectured extensively at the University of Ghana Law School, contributing significantly to legal education in the country.
